"Changes in inhibitory control are seen as the cornerstone of cognitive development. However, the development of intentional inhibition has remained largely unstudied."
Margot Schel is a PhD student in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.
She obtained her research master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Leiden University. As part of her research master she has worked in the Brain and Development Lab on a longitudinal fMRI project focused on the development of performance monitoring.
Her PhD research focuses on the neural mechanisms underlying the development of intentional inhibition. This research project is part of a European Collaborative Research Project focused on intentional inhibition with collaborating partners from the UK (Prof. Patrick Haggard), Belgium (Dr. Marcel Brass), and Germany (Prof. Alexander Munchau).
