Sandy Overgaauw is a Research Assistant in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University. 

She obtained her Master’s in Education and Child studies (specialisation Clinical Child and Adolescent Studies) at Leiden University.

Sandy is involved in collecting and incorporating data on the relations between brain- and cognitive development. Her interest lies in how prosocial behavior develops in children, adolescents and adults (aged 8-25). The measurements consist of behavioral experiments and fMRI and are meant to provide more insight in the developmental differences between fairness considerations, empathy and perspective taking.
