Rudy Andeweg shortlisted for Huibregtsen Award 2011

A jury has shortlisted the Dutch Democratic Audit, in the person of Prof. dr. Rudy Andeweg, for the 2011 Huibregtsen Award. This award is for the best Dutch research project that is scientifically innovative while offering a potential valuable impact for society.

The Democratic Audit, directed by Andeweg and his Twente colleague Jacques Thomassen, was a project to evaluate the quality of Dutch democracy in which about 50 Dutch political scientists collaborated. According to the jury, the project 'corrects the image of Dutch democracy in public and political debate. At the same time it gives an impulse as well as a broadening to the discipline.' The Democratic Audit is one of eight shortlisted research projects. The winner will be announced during the 'Evening of Science and Society' on November 7, in the Knights' Hall in The Hague.
