A truly swinging opening of the new academic year

The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences invites all staff and students to the festive opening (in Dutch) of the academic year 2011-2012 on Tuesday 6 September. This will take place in the hall of the Pieter de la Court building, from 5:15 pm onwards.

The Dean, Prof. Philip Spinhoven, and the student member of the Faculty Board, Ivo Bronstring, will welcome everybody. Their short addresses will be followed by a swinging Columbian dance workshop. The party will conclude with drinks for all.

Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the beginning of classes with your fellow-students and colleagues!

Dance workshop and drinks party are not all –  all first-year students from will have the chance to be in a group photograph. These will be taken in the breaks of the following lectures:

• Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology : Thursday 22 September, 3.45 pm, before the examination

• Education and Child Studies:: Tuesday 6 September, 2.15 pm, 'Inleiding in grondslagen van de Pedagogiek'

• Political Science: Wednesday 7 September, 12.15, 'Nationale Politiek 1'

• Psychology: Wednesday 7 September, 2.15 pm, 'Inleiding in de Psychologie' (date to be confirmed)

• Public Administration: Tuesday 6 September, 12.15, 'Methoden en Technieken' 1A
