Dissertation Award for Rutger Claassen

On October 24, Dr. Rutger Claassen, assistant professor Political Philosophy, was awarded the 2008 dissertation award of the Netherlands Research School for Practical Philosophy. He won the award for his dissertation "The Market's Place in the Provision of Goods" which he defended in May 2008.


The dissertation award of the Netherlands Research School for Practical Philosophy has been awarded for the first time this year on October 24 in the Academy Building of the University of Utrecht. The scientific committee of the Research School reviewed all dissertations of PhD candidates of the Research School for Practical Philosophy which had been concluded between 1 January 2006 and 1 July 2008. All dissertations had practical philosophy as their theme (ethics, political philosophy etc.).
